Dr. Andy Ang is a researcher and consultant specialising in workplace health and safety, as well as the well-being of workers. He possesses the expertise to conduct on-site safety research in occupational health and safety (OHS). Dr. Ang has authored reports on a variety of topics, including the Pike River Mine tragedy, challenges faced by temporary and vulnerable workers, mental health initiatives, and issues related to zoos, museums, the health sector, OHS leadership in the manufacturing sector, and safety within the primary sector, including kiwifruit and avocado packhouses.
Experience & Collaborations
Over the past 15 years, Dr. Ang has collaborated with various organisations in New Zealand and overseas, including CHASNZ, HASNZ, ETU, ACC, WorkSafe, City Council, Federated Farmers, Horticulture New Zealand, the Mental Health Foundation, and Victoria University of Wellington. Additionally, Dr. Andy Ang is a team member of the Safety Climate Lab at Oregon Health and Science University.
He participated in a significant project with an overseas university and the Safety Climate Lab, focusing on mobile-health in manufacturing. This includes involvement in the Total Health Worker Project on Safety Climate and Safety Culture.
